Despite everything the past couple years have thrown at us, exciting things are still happening here at the SnK. On May 6th we hosted our 4th field day and had an amazing turnout which included members of NPATs Fayette chapter, Master Naturalists with the Victoria chapter, biologists with TPWD and Oaks and Prairies Joint Venture, as well as members of Useful Wild Plants of Texas. Thank you to everyone who made it out, we love getting the chance to show people around the place and always learn something new. We hope to increase the frequency of these events in the future so people can get a better idea of the diversity on the place from one season to the next. Plans for a bird viewing area are in the works, as well as our 2nd prescribed burn which will take place this summer with the help of TPWD and Oaks and Prairies Joint Venture. We will need all the volunteers we can get for the burn so if you’re near Cuero and interested in joining us, please contact Selena at skschin@yahoo.com or keep checking our Facebook page for details.
