Blooming at The SnK

As mentioned in an earlier post, we did some grassland restoration and wildflower enhancement projects in 2017. Things are doing well with the front hay field mostly back to native grasses and wildflowers.

The mid section Monarch Habitat Enhancement area is taking of in wild flowers, too. This area has always had wildflower and native grasses, but we gave it a boost by planting additional wild flower seeds, so it will have greater diversity over the years.

Trough out The SnK there are wildflowers and Selena shot a few photos of some that she spotted the other day while riding around. Here’s a few.

Lady Tresses Orchid
Native Passion Vine
Corriopsis
Cone Flower

Luckily, The SnK has received a good amount of rain the past few months, so we should see quite a number of wild flowers this year.

Hopefully, it won’t end up a dry Summer, after a wet Spring, as it’s done before. We start off lush and green, then end up brown and dry. Well, it is South Central Texas, so we’re stuck with what ever comes along.
